Pillow Talk, a headset-pillow in our book Switch Craft, isn't the only interactive pillow you can snuggle up too at night. Toxel.com has put together a really great list of silly, electronic, eclectic, and sometimes just plain weird pillows for the comfy connoisseur.

How to Make your own fabric prints with Spoonflower

Textile design has always been a really interesting art form to me. But, after experimenting with some not-so-simple techniques such as stenciling, bleaching, RIT dying, and candle wax masking (a.k.a. “A MESS”), I reluctantly gave up the dream of making my own fabric. Luckily Spoonflower—an online fabric printing service—came along and opened the door for easy textile creation for the rest of us!

SXSW 2009 was Twittastic!

Things have been wonderfully hectic and I have been Twittering away with my few friends from the SXSW Interactive and Film Festival. While I like to Tweet, this was Twittering at its best to keep up with the latest news, best panels, and parties. If you were not on Twitter, you were missing out. Make the Switch to Green - A contribution by Switch reader, Bethany Pruitt

Looking for a way to go green while stepping up your fashion with Switch Craft? I found it so easy to practice the “Three Rs” of environmentalism with the projects in Switch Craft! When you make your own clothes and accessories, that’s reducing the amount you buy. Second, you can reuse all of the electronics you need to make your Switch Craft projects. Talk about making technology second nature!

Interview with Syuzi Pakchyan on Fashioning Technology

I met Syuzi Pakchyan at the 2006 Maker Faire in San Francisco. At that at time, Syuzi had just finished her thesis titled "SparkLab" where she was exploring the intersection between culture, technology and craft. She was doing a workshop where crafters made light up bracelets with conductive thread and snaps. Of course, we hit it off right away and we had a wonderful interview which never made it to Switch because of a microphone malfunction.
